To accumulate real wealth I think one of the best strategies is to have multiple diversified investments. Not only should they be diverse in nature but also geographically diverse. Here are some methods I am using, know of and/or considering. 1. The stock market, I include options trading in this when they are stock options. 2. Bond trading is there but Im not really a fan. 3. There is also the traditional money market but again, not a fan. 4. P2P lending such as LendingClub and Prosper in the US and there are others around the world even using Bitcoin. 5. Residential real estate 6. Farm land 7. Commercial real estate 8. Tax Lien certificates are available around the US but as an AnCap I dont feel good about being involved in the taxation business. 9. The Forex market. 10. Businesses from turn key mom and pop operations all the way up to large corporations. This would include having a foreign business. 11. There are also private placements for accredited investors in several countries around the world. This is your government protecting you. 12. The Precious metals/bullion market and Ill include coin investing although this could easily be considered a stand alone category. 13. Participating whole life insurance with a mutual insurance company. Best used as a flow through investment to help fund your other investments. 14. Speculation in Bitcoin or altcoins. Each category requires you to be knowledgeable but number 4 may require the least. It really isnt much more complicated that accessing a bank. You just need to think through your options and you need to know yourself as far as level of risk you are able to cope with.
