To all Brockton my Brockton friends and supporters from Brockton, I am announcing my intention to form an Advisory Committee made up of two members of each Ward in Our City.......in all fairness this idea was hatched by Dick Zaccaro. Now that Dick has been eliminated from the race, I am carrying forth the idea myself. I love the idea and I think that it is a great way to gather ideas and and feel the pulse and desires of each Ward. We all know that Ward meetings are generally lightly attended with little focus and feedback unless there is a tragedy. I envision this approach as being a wonderful way to harness and encourage public involvement on all issues that affect our every day lives. The only prerequisite for this role is the desire to be involved in forming relationships with others in their Ward and a dedication to helping form an agenda of progress and fairness within the committee. My idea has the committee meeting each month. I would encourage members to attend Council meetings when they can and would like them to assist me and the Ward Councilor in our effort to be prompt and diligent in addressing the multitude of concerns in each Ward. The roles can always be tweaked and altered as the committee sees fit... Anyone from Brockton interested in being a part of this aggressive and progressive committee before and or after I am elected to the Council (providing I am elected), please respond in writing to becknerforabetterbrockton@gmail with an explanation as to why you wish to be part of this group. I have two members already committed and a couple that I have asked if they were interested in being considered. Together we can get Brockton back to where it once belonged.
