To all, I have been selected to further my adventure in civil - TopicsExpress

To all, I have been selected to further my adventure in civil service as a Master Scheduler in support. This Friday is my last day in C-17s. I can say that has been a wild ride to say the least. I have loved where we came from (back when Harris Roberts was here). C-141s would get one that would come in at any time back in the late 90s early 2000s to when I got here in Feb 2007 with only 4 grips ,1 LARCM. Now we have it seems like the whole fleet at times. Wow have we expanded. I have been very blessed to have the opportunity to be able to train a lot of the schedulers, new supervisors and technicians to be the best they can be. Also, to be the fireman as required helping get an Acft to FT. Supervisors/ AMT: My mentor used to tell me Joe, one day you will get a crew, whether directly or indirectly. You take care of them with all of your heart even if it means getting your butt handed to you every day. I never understood the directly or indirectly until I became a scheduler. It is my duty to help the mission by keeping maintainers on the Acft and have everything they need to get the task at hand done. To help them when they feel their back is against the wall. Please continue to do so. It is so humbling to DO for everyone around me. I have had the chance to meet some of the best maintainers that I have ever worked around. Just please take care of them with all you got. By helping each other it makes all of you better in the end. Always remember Managers we manage equipment and lead troops. And as leaders we fail them if we do not do this. Please let the AMTs continue to do their job and help out only when needed but by all means let them do their jobs. It has been a great pleasure to be a Wingman in C-17s and I will never forget you all. However, this chapter in my life is coming to a close and I will start writing the next one next week. Thanks for the memories that this past several years has made. P.S. TELL THE CREWS I LOVE EM. KEEP EM FLYIN.... AIRBORNE thank you, JOE MOREAU C-17 ALS
