To all Latino/a, Hispanic, Chicana / o, Mexican-American, and California voters interested in electing a governor Latina 2014: Regretfully, my effort to democratize and feminize an election in California must be concluded for various reasons as follows: 1) El Comité was unable to hold organizing meetings; 2) although I did receive nominations my consulting group was unable to reach consensus on one candidate; 3) we were unable to meet with, and/or interview, the candidates. One good result of all the effort is a list of names of Latinas who voters consider worthy of their own effort to organize a campaign for statewide office. These names I offer to you, los Californios and the California public, to pursue your own Interests and strategies for democratizing, energizing, and involving the Latino electorate which appears to continue to distrust the political system.
