To all my fellow car guys please chime in. Someone posted asking for an oil cooler kit. Told him I had one laying around at a shop from while ago that I never had installed. He asked how much, didnt ask for ANY pictures, details, nothing. He sent payment. I took a pic before sending it he was happy and thankful. He gets the items and messages me freaking out saying the plate is leaking. I ask him if he torqued down the center bolt he says no, what am I suppose to torque it to (First sign he doesnt know what hes doing) Then I ask if he tightened the pil filter properly he says whats the right torque for that I tell him 1/3rd turn past hand tightening (Second sign he shouldnt be doing this) Then he sends me pictures of an oem filter on the plate and I can CLEARLY see it does not at all cover the oil galley whatsoever. I then tell him I dont know of any thermostatic plate ive used that uses an oem filter. He then says im the asshole for not including instructions. Mind you I told him it was at a different location and sat for a long time and was not a kit from a manufacturer but a piece by piece unit the shop put together. I talked him through the entire problem and then he calls me a dickhead. No answer me this, EVERYONE knows parts clearly say PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION ONLY correct? So how am I the asshole here?
