To all my friends in weird and wonderful places across the world, Happy New Year :) Its often hard to grab perspective when reflecting on an entire year of events, its incredibly easy to focus on the negative things that happen, it seems to be human nature for us to want to have a bit of a moan rather than say what a great time we had. I was feeling exactly this way, and was about to post a 2014 can suck my balls type post. Why??? well i just listed all those things and then deleted them as its irrelevant now. Its in the past and concentrating on negativity only breeds more negativity. I started thinking about my Son and how much hes grown and how proud of him i am. And that my family relocated to start a fresh in new city. That i got to play in so many different countries, recorded albums, have great reviews from their releases. And in all, made some progress in relatively good health. So why post this? Well, if we think hard about it, life is actually pretty tough. We ALL deal with Death, disease, afflictions, illnesses, heartache, lies and despair at some point, maybe some of you experienced all of them in one year. But at the other end of these things, theres some awesome things to consider too. Love, Hope, Laughter, the miracle of birth, Truth, and sometimes random acts of kindness. Theyre all around you if you have a closer look. So if you had a great year, BRILLIANT. I really happy for you and hope the next one is even better. If you had a really shitty year and are feeling that youve been swimming upstream all the time. Try and grab just one happy thought from 2014 and take it forward as an example of how you want this coming year to be. To all of you, stay safe, healthy, happy, and keep your chin up with a smile on your face. Youre alive, thats a big start. Happy New Year :)
