To all of our friends, alumni and supporters, it is with a heavy heart that we announce that Eastside Fury will be going inactive for the 2015 season. This was not an easy decision or one that we wanted to make. Due to a few very unfortunate events we were forced to make some tough decisions. After much deliberation it was decided that it was in our best interest to take a leave of absence. At this stage we cannot make any statements about the group beyond 2015. During this time we would like to take a few moments to thank everyone that has supported us over the years. We have been truly honored to have come across the path of so many great people. The memories gathered and friends made over the past 15 years have been fantastic. When we started this ensemble back in 2000 its sole purpose was to give a few of our students a place to showcase their talents and grow as percussionists. We had no idea what it would become. We were honored to be the first winterline in Michigan to win a national title. Our journey thus far would have never been possible without so many fantastic and truly selfless parent volunteers. Many thanks to Tim Heileman, Leslie Heileman, Gloria Zalewski, Dave & Carolyn Marshall, and Mont Kuykendall. These people gave up so much of their own lives to make sure our members were always well taken care of. There are many others, too many to list here. Please allow us to thank you for all you have done. A huge thank you to all of our very generous sponsors. Vic Firth, Pearl, Adams, Zildjian, Remo, TreeWorks, and the Support of LAnse Creuse High School as well as Russ Hilton and the LAnse Creuse Bands. . Thank you for making sure we have a wonderful facility to rehearse in and the very best equipment for our members to play on. We have always tried to put our members first, making sure they had the things they need. It was certainly a learning experience for all of us. At the end of the day what’s most important is the journey, the friends you meet, the times you shared and the skills learned. It’s not about winning, hunting a medal or a piece of flare for your resume. It’s about something much more profound than what is seen on the outside. We want to thank all of you for being a part of our ensemble and for allowing us to be part of your lives. Please do not hesitate to contact any of us if you would like to chat. Thank you for everything. Good luck this season. Work hard, be honest, and stay tuned for more news as it becomes available. Best Wishes, Eastside Fury Percussion Ensemble
