To all our dear friends and family, I have just recently, - TopicsExpress

To all our dear friends and family, I have just recently, within the last hour, gotten off the phone with Tara. We really do not have a lot to update. They did a post op MRI this morning. When I spoke with Tara, she had still not spoken with the surgeon, so we are still waiting on any official news where we are at and what course of treatment, moving forward we may have. Around 5 this morning, Tara was up and Shae was sleeping so she ran across the street to the JW building to get a shower. Unfortunately, Mike’s phone had run out of charge so he was still fast asleep. He immediately called his boss and got that squared away so instead he was able to spend the day with his beautiful Warrior Angel and Wife and is working tomorrow not far from where they are right now. At 5 this morning Shae was starving, but nothing was open so she went back to sleep and that is when Tara get her shower in. However, when Tara got back to the hospital, she was able to run down and pick up breakfast for herself and Shae at the Cafeteria (she says the food is actually not bad at all) and Shae was just not going to wait for them to bring around meals….she was starving. Her word recognition is much better than yesterday, and that is good. She can wiggle and move her toes and fingers. PT was in today and she was sitting up for a bit. However, they have noticed her right side is very weak, but it was the last time we had to go through this almost two years ago and we have to keep reminding ourselves we are only 24 hrs out from post op. There is still major swelling going on. They actually seem pleased with her progress. The nurse was thrilled because Shae gave her one of those beautiful Shae smiles that we all love to see. Oh, and Shae did, with much help from PT, go to the bathroom and since she is eating and drinking so well on her own, she is off the saline drip. All in all, we think a pretty good day! Please continue to pray for good results on the MRI and that our Shae Shae is up and running around quickly. My parents will be taking the Falin and Catlyn to see everyone tomorrow, but then returning to Vacaville that evening as they have projects and homework to get done. I have attached a picture of our darling Shae doing PT. The 2nd is of Shae and Mummy with Shae’s menagerie of animals taken last night. WE are still waiting to get one of Shae and Daddy and I have been promised that will be coming. Once again, from all of our families, and especially Tara, Mike, Shae, Falin and Catlyn, we thank you for the overwhelming support, prayers and positive thoughts. Please keep them going and I will update as we move forward. Shae’s loving and inspired Auntie Ta Ta.
