To all our readers: Heres a quick shout-out to our friend and Old-Time Baseball Photos poster author Joe Niese, who is currently finishing his second baseball book, this one on Andy Pafko. Joe says that over the next 25 days he hopes to raise enough money to self-publish the book, Handy Andy: The Andy Pafko Story. Working through the crowdfunding site Kickstarter, hes trying to raise a minimum of $4,000 by September 30. The book will focus on Andy Pafko, a beloved ballplayer from the 1940s and ‘50s. He played for the Chicago Cubs, Brooklyn Dodgers and Milwaukee Braves. The funds raised will help with several parts of the book beyond the production, including gaining permissions for photos.
