To be honest, I havent really payed much attention to local politics in Richmond. In the last few days Ive been reading up on it, though, and its fascinating. Chevron just spent $3M here trying to buy the city council after losing a $90M lawsuit with the city. Despite the money they poured into the campaign, their candidates were completely swept yesterday by the progressives who campaigned on just $100k. The city council has been bitterly divided, but the most ridiculous obstructionist member, Corky Boozè, has now been defeated.
