To be thankful Today, on your social sites youll be seeing a slew of various posting, ranging from I am thankful to god for such and such to Happy Native American Genocide day! In this writers opinion, that whatever you may be thankful for, it is all relative. Religion in my opinion is personal, those close to me helped me perceive it as a form of expression. So if youre thankful for your god, then I encourage it. History is a fickle thing, as if youll research, almost any historical event will have 15 different hypothesis written by well established, credible sources. Lets not dwell on where the day may have originated as its meaning has become irrelevant, whether its harvest festival or a religious day of thanks. Today I feel the concept and ideal of the holiday is important to our society. Thanksgiving is a day for familial gatherings, or simply spending time with those important to you. For those who do not have anyone to celebrate the holiday with, you may choose to be thankful for your health, or the health of others. Whatever your agenda may be for this U.S. holiday, please be mindful and respectful of others values. Have a happy holiday!
