To continue with this weeks string of strange animal stories, another odd event happened during my run this morning. Running through a picnic area in the woods, I noticed a middle aged lady sitting crossed legged in the grass. At first I thought she was doing yoga, but then I noticed she had a notebook in her lap. Sitting nearby, dozens, perhaps hundreds of gophers were relaxing and watching her. And she them. Im not sure if she was some kind of Jane Goodall of the vermin world, or if she was having a Dances with Rodents moment, but either way, it was very odd. I think I saw a far side cartoon of something similar years ago, but this was real life.
