To err is human, to really foul up you need a computer. When that - TopicsExpress

To err is human, to really foul up you need a computer. When that computer is a court computer, you end up being arrested for typos. Imagine my surprise when I was arrested last month for an outstanding warrant and suspended license. It seems that bored GC police officers routinely conduct random (or not) surveillance of citizens. My tag came up on the LEIN and I was arrested and taken to jail. While being processed, the cop was confused by several things on the computer. Minor things like my name being different, different address, different DOB, different license number and even different race. The only thing correct in the computer was my vehicle tag. Jump forward to today. I appeared in 20th District Court. The judge reviewed the case, looked over my documentation and ruled that the clerk made a few data entry mistakes. He dismissed the case, reinstated my drivers license and refunded the bond money. He admitted that there was a mistake made but he stopped short of apologizing. I would have liked an apology.
