To help preserve a shiny new vehicle finish, you should correctly treat those conditions that can damage the paint on your vehicle. Wash and wax regularly and if you opt for an automatic vehicle wash, select a programme that includes waxing. If washing by hand, please refer to your Owner’s Manual for tips. Tree sap, bird droppings, pollen and other natural deposits should be removed immediately. They contain aggressive constituents which can cause paint damage. After a long period of time, oils, dirt and exhaust and other pollutants can build up too. They may combine to affect the paint finish. Remove such road bloom with a paint cleaner, in addition to normal washing. Take care to ensure that any rusting of the vehicle is counteracted immediately; otherwise ‘rust creep’ will extend beyond the damaged area.
