To make a few things perfectly clear.....I am 100% against BSL but I am also 200% in favor of responsible pet ownership. As pit bull owners, rescuers, advocates we have to make sure our babies are kept safe and away from harm. Adopting a pit bull AFTER you move to a BSL area is putting a dog in jeopardy. A rescue/shelter that adopts a pit bull to somebody who lives in a BSL area is putting that dog in jeopardy. Allowing the dog to run free in the neighborhood charging at both humans and other animals is putting that dog in jeopardy. Signing petitions and sharing new stories without full knowledge is putting that dog and other dogs in jeopardy. Labeling a dog as a service dog/therapy dog/emotional support dog without proper training puts properly trained service dogs and those who require their dogs to survive in jeopardy.
