To make things clear, I do not have a signed contract with anyone - TopicsExpress

To make things clear, I do not have a signed contract with anyone at this moment. Therefore anything they supposedly heard were just rumors, which started since the day those musicians left. -Olivier Duret So based on what I could gather and understand from Olis note to the media [in reference to his firing from the Konpa band T-Vice], I can comfortably conclude that the decision to dismiss him was based on rumors and uncertainties. So thats how people take serious business decisions nowadays? No wonder our music business is in the predicament or quagmire it is today. Yes, indeed, the rumors about his possible reversal to the Dat7 camp had started to brew exactly when the band had experienced the waves of acquittals a few months ago, but never had they been materialized. I do have some scratch vocals on the Dat7 studio work but thats no secret to anyone nor is my solo career. Dat7 has many other singers scratch vocals on other songs, which does not make them or myself the lead singer. Furthermore, I have a lot of scratch vocals with different bands and producers as OliDuret, the solo artist. -Olivier Duret For some reason, I have a gut feeling that Olis side of the story is more accurate and reflective of the situation preceding his dismissal. He has not denied the fact that he had recorded some scratch vocals with Dat7, nor has he tried to justify any unjustifiable evidence. So I give credence to his testimony. Has T-Vice acted on the motive of preemption? I think so. They probably wanted to get rid of him and were waiting to find something [any piece of convincible evidence that could make their case for that matter] to justify their decision. They probably were nervous because they were not quite sure about what Oli was cooking in his laboratory. So before they would find themselves dealing with a fait accompli, they acted by first securing his replacement and then letting him go. If that is the case, though I do not condone the way they went about it, but I can understand the ground for such preemptive measure. I, on the other hand, commend Oli for the way he addressed the whole situation. He handled it in a very, very, very professional, mature, political and diplomatic way as evidenced by this statement: Not all separations need to contain drama, as each person maintains the right to protect what is in their own best interest. But they should be able to do so with respect. I will not entertain this drama that is developing nor will I magnify the situation. I have had 2 stints with T-Vice full of good times, laughter, and fun as well as tough times. parting ways cannot erase the 8 years of collaboration and camaraderie that we shared. All I can say is thank you to the T-Vice team and a bigger thank you to the die-hard fans. -Olivier Duret Thats what you call a killer statement right there. It sums up everything. He comes across as the bigger person in the whole saga. Great job, Oli! That is how you move on to the next level --never destroy bridges you are done crossing, for you may need them in your journey. Now that the story is in your rearview mirror, meaning behind you, time now to focus on some bigger and more interesting opportunities. Leave the issue for the talkers to yap about.
