To me the major component to intimacy is communication. It is also finding the language that perhaps never existed before the two or more came together. When we are intimate we are exchanging what Milan Kundera calls the Dictionary of misunderstood words. That means that through the connection we learn about the other and we ascribe meaning to words that before that meant something else. I love words. I love making up new ones to embody the limitless potential of intimate connection that naturally wants to grow. The moment the book is closed, however. And the language is already known the intimacy loses its magnetic potential to draw both in. It becomes boring complacent and dull to the ear. We must stay creative and closely linked to the fact that words are mere expressions of the intimacy that is the mystery between beloveds. If you are quick to contain that mystery with words that cant hold space and are limited by a posture that is safe then words have truly lost the power in the intimate. What is more powerful than words in the intimate? Eye contact, gesture, sound that is expressed from the emotional integrity of your core. This is where *new* words are born. But to experience this language we must let go of our clutching to the dictionary of describing emotions. We must become a master at embodying the language of emotions in the body, before there was language to contain them. We must be willing to discover the language of the moment. When this happens.....your heart skips a beat. You feel the realness, the rawness of connection caught in the container of words. Everything else is filler. And you can feel it. Make up new words. Silly words. Shocking words. Words that blow your mind to be human. Words that break you free from your old reality. Be full from the inside out with your sharing of words. Share that fullness with those you choose to be intimate with, and you will learn to speak with the absurdity of love into language.
