To my CC Eagles family, It is with excitement and a little sadness that I announce that I will be leaving my role as Head Coach of the club in late August to begin a new role as Lead Assistant Coach with the Perth Wildcats in the NBL for the 2014-15 season. Moving to the other side of the country to pursue my aspirations to coach in the NBL is a huge decision for my wife and I, one that we have put a great deal of thought into. We are both excited by the opportunity and the possibilities. Since being appointed to coach the CC Eagles U12 and U14 Boys in 1999, then onto Head Coach of the club later that year (the whole 4 teams…), I have truly enjoyed a wonderful 15 years in the club. I have had the amazing support of some wonderful people in that time. Mr Andrew Dunlop is the man responsible for recruiting me in 1999 and to this day remains a close friend and an inspirational leader for me. He has led the club from near extinction to what we see before us today, a strong, vibrant and innovative basketball club. Mr Daryl Riddle, a man who has a huge passion for basketball and Christian College Geelong, had the vision for the club long before I became involved and he continues to be a strong advocate for the club and the value it brings to the school and student body. I have had the great pleasure of working with some amazing administrators in the club - Mrs Kay Wilson, Mrs Kerry Miller, Mrs Flora Murdoch and Mrs Annette Kennedy. If it wasn’t for their expertise, hard work, long hours and support, this club would not be anywhere near what it is today. The list of coaches who have led teams over the journey is enormous and every coach has had a positive lasting impact on the young people they have worked with. I cannot list them all in this letter but I would like to once again thank each and every one of them for helping the club and players grow. There have been a few coaches who have put in many years of service that I must mention at this time. These people have not only given long service to the club but often go above and beyond the call of duty for the benefit of the club. - Mr Daniel Whitten, Mr Colin Bates, Mr Greg Reid, Mr Steve Bentley, Mr Robert Aherne, Mr Geoff Case, Mr Bruce Hultgren, Mr Gary Crole and Mr Conor Sumner-Foster. Thankyou. To everyone who has been a part of the last 15 years, I wish to thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have made this a wonderful experience for me and you have been part of re-building this great club. I wish you all the best for the future. Regards, Jamie O’Loughlin Head Coach CC Eagles Basketball Club
