To my English speaking friends; As most of you know well, I usually am not a political person, especially on a public platform like Facebook. I spend my days talking about birds, dogs and my horses, sometimes sprinkled with some wildlife stories. Unfortunately, recent events in my home land Turkey and the governments efforts to keep it a secret not only from the Turkish citizens but the world has turned me into an armchair activist as well :( The more the Turkish citizens fight for their basic rights like freedom of speech and expression, the more, the government tries to block this, turning us all into news casters making sure things do not get hidden under a persian themed rug :( Turkey is an extremely important country geo-politically and has been a role model for other middle eastern countries with its secular stand set between Europe and middle east! More importantly for me personally, it is where all my family lives! So, I ask for your patience and support in this trying times for my country. I am just one of the many that is trying to make sure the voices of the people of Turkey get heard around the world. Thank you all many times for all your caring thoughts for people you probably will never meet.
