To my SINGLE Sis & Bro in Christ, I too have experienced - TopicsExpress

To my SINGLE Sis & Bro in Christ, I too have experienced wanting a relationship and being in a (seemingly eeeeendless) season of waiting but let me speak to you from experience and praise. I know how it is when you find yourself dating someone new and how exciting that time is but you need to ask the right questions and pay attention to the answers and behaviors. Trust the Holy Spirit that dwells within you when your intuition speaks and you see those red flags. Dont dismiss them just because you are having a good time going out on dates and not having to spend your weekends alone. Im not suggesting that you thump someone over the head with your bible but you do need to ask those pointed questions before you start doodling his name...yeah...weve all done that one and fellas we know you do it too. Folks now a days, MALE & FEMALE go to church regularly and know how to jump, shout & quiver so you cant take that as an indication of their spiritual maturity. Youve got to ask them point blank...what is your spiritual worldview? Who do YOU (not they) say Jesus Christ is? And so on...this is a Matter Of LIFE...yours! People spend more time preparing for a job interview than they do for a date and the ramifications of a date could ruin your life more than doing bad on a job interview or not getting the job. When you ask pointed questions you convey that you are engaged and interested but you also empower yourself to be able to walk away from a situation before your heart gets involved. How many of us have ignored the GLARING red flags only to wish wed paid attention to them when they started waving? *hand raised* And lets be clear, asking if someone believes in God isnt enough...you have to dig deeper. There are many man-made manifestations of who God is but there is only ONE true God and it is incumbent upon each of us to find out in whom and what a potential mates beliefs are from jump....or you might have to deal with some crazy person when you could have been saved the drama. And even if you find yourself currently in a relationship...I dont care if your bridal shower/bachelor party is tomorrow.... its never too late to start asking these questions, especially if something just doesnt sit right or your spirit is not at peace. ASK! KNOW! REMOVE! (if necessary) I love yall.
