To new adopters.....we want the best for our companions as all rescues do. I try to do my best to place a companion in what I think will be a forever home. Some companions havent been here very long so I may not know a lot about them. I think my rescues have been through enough, so for this reason I do give a full refund up to 30 days....if for ANY reason (and I dont care why) it doesnt work out you can bring them back. I may not get it right the first or even second time.....but I do try. There is a two week acclimation period and I do ask that you give them at least that much time. I am a shelter, a home based shelter, I work full time and while its not perfect here they get out more times in a day then at a regular facility...if they happen to linger here awhile I try to give them more house time....and its better then the alternative. I feed breakfast and supper, they are out twice before I go to work and then several times after I get home. I have outdoor kennels and when the weather is nice they stay in them. I am on poop patrol everyday.....they get dewormed, frontlined; that doesnt ensure they wont have a tick, flea or worms. I am not in a controlled environment....I have dogs coming in from surrounding pounds they bring in different things. I had a helper that I relied on to tell me if there was anything abnormal about the poop....that is always the first indication if they have worms or are getting a bug....I no longer have a helper and that is all I am going to say about that. I offer PetFirst Healthcare to all my new adopters, its 5.00 for the first month and it is so worth it....rates are pretty cheap after that 14.95 I think. No matter where you get your companion things can happen especially within the first 30 days....they are getting to know you and your routine. I put these things in place to ensure the proper care and coverage of these companions....there are no guarantees...but I will do what I can.
