To often I find that Skepticism has become a pseudonym for irrational cynicism or even sometimes a cover for total and complete denial of real and serious issues. This is why I do not associate myself with the Skeptic or even Atheist movements, even though I am an Atheist. Instead I prefer to focus on what I am being told by the scientific consensus and think rationally and empathically about the issue. Climate change is real. Our planet is warming. It is the result of our activity. Are there some people out there who have exaggerated the problem? Certainly. Does that make it less real or less dangerous for human civilisation? No. Here is the NASA list of evidence for this, which is well worth reading through if you are unsure about the enormous volume of evidence proving Anthropological Climate Change. Australia needs to implement a Carbon Emissions Trading Scheme and seriously step up our investment in technology that will reduce carbon output.
