To our honorable Principal, Ms. Imelda, teachers, parents, and fellow graduates, a wonderful morning to you all. We are truly blessed by God to give us the honor and privilege to celebrate the end of a chapter in our lives. Finally, and thankfully, we made it! We made it fellow graduates! This is now our time to look back at all the obstacles and struggles we have passed to make it here. But let us not forget the people who have been writing this chapter along with us. When I said that WE made it, I was not only talking about us who were physically present in our classrooms. During all of these years we were never alone embarking on this journey. God has given us the angels that nurtured us with all their tender loving care and protected us when we were too fragile to protect ourselves. So today, let us acknowledge and honor our dearest parents who with their blood, sweat, and tears have made it here with us. They have invested on us by putting us in this facility because of their big dreams and aspirations for us, their children. Not only have they invested on us financially, they have poured themselves to provide us with the proper guidance and infallible love they have to give. Our parents were our firsts, our first friends, our first teachers, or even our first superheroes. We were cradled by their wisdom and they taught us how to walk the way of life. But as we grow older and we begin to have a mind of our own, we are the ones who tend to walk away. Sometimes, we think that other worldly pleasures are more important. Sometimes, friends are suddenly more important. I’m sure that many of us are guilty about having a day coming to an end and not a proper conversation has been made between our parents but when it comes to friends, a day is not even enough to spend time with one another. When you come to a realization, friends, just like the seasons, they change. Some friends stay, some friends go. You will lose old friends and will gain new ones. They are just like the seasons. But our parents, no matter what season, they will always be here for us. They will shelter us from the rain or warm our hearts from the cold. We may be God’s gifts to our parents but they are definitely, no doubt, God’s gift to us. When I think of all the sacrifices my parents have made for me and my siblings, all I can think of is how I deserve such hardworking and God-fearing parents who will do anything with all their might for us. I, in countless times, have fallen short of their expectations and I have had many faults which I know have disappointed them. But still, no matter what wrong I’ve done, that wrong is always replaced with proper discipline, forgiveness, and a love like no other. So I thank the Lord for giving them to me to be my inspiration in order for me to be the best person I can possibly be. I love you so much mom and dad. And now as we start another chapter of our lives, whether you are entering high school or entering university, get ready for the new challenges you will face and a new set of characters that will play a part in your life and when you are struggling to write the next sentence in your book, do not fret because God and your parents will always be there to hold your hand and guide you on how to continue your story. So parents look at your son or your daughter, give them a hug or a kiss and tell them we made it, because by the grace of God, you have accomplished this together as a family. Thank you and God Bless You All!
