To our wonderful friends, worldwide! thank you so much for the emails, phone calls and postings re our sweet Jilli Dog passing. We are broken hearted, and I am so sad as I write this, but I am also so happy and grateful for the wonderful life this tiny, sweet girl has had and has given me... Its 6am, as I write this, and tears are running down my face, missing sweet Jilli, but I must say, that she was thoughtful enough to give us warning that her little 17 yr old body (possibly 20, she was a rescue of unknown age) could not keep up with her amazing heart and spirit... She has been blind and deaf for more than a year, altho that didnt keep her from finding her way to the 20 min daily practice and fun time with her sisters and brother pups (Ruby, Spidey Chihuahua and Coco, and kitty sisters... Spidey was the only boy :) She left us on Fri, but as of Tues, she could still pull playing cards from a deck, as in her famous magic card trick youtube/watch?v=XQ7ohYtG0A4 (you should also notice some other videos of her will come up too) Her little body started showing us she was going, suddenly by wednesday, and the vet said she was shutting down. We were prepared to have the vet assist her on to the bridge, but as long as she was in no pain, I kept her with me, on my chest, in my arms (her favorite place), and I heard and felt her final breath in my ear, on Fri morn... Even tho we knew it was coming for days, Judy and I were devastated, and we cried like babies... But we know that she is in a better place, running and spreading smiles for all her friends in Heaven, over the Bridge... With her wonderful talents, she has taken us around the country and to Europe and Scandinavia. She became the ambassador to YTNR (as well as her sister, Ruby, and friend of Yorkie911 Rescue in NY! She has been on numerous TV shows around the world and landed me a position as a columnist in Yorkie Club Magazine, International, starting in 2006, for 7 years... (which is interesting because Im not a writer, but I guess they liked what I had to say, and I had a good editor in Judy:) Jilli has spread smiles and love in hospitals, senior facilities, schools, fundraisers and events... All 5 lbs of her!-) And mostly, we have wonderful friends from around the globe, be cause of sweet and gentle Jilli Dog
