To paraphrase Jefferson; When you trade liberty for security, you will lose both and deserve neither. The NSA is a blot on the face of lady liberty. Ike warned of the dangers of the Military Industrial complex in the late 1950s. Our military discovered they could waste any amount of money if they declared it classified for security purposes. Then our Government discovered they could hide any stupidity using the same system. Disclose classified information and go to jail, without reference to whether it actually hurt security. If the conservatives want to cut spending and reduce our debt, gut the military. Then disband the NSA. We have the FBI and the CIA, we dont need a third leg growing out of anyones control. The only useful military branch we have is the Coast Guard. Have the Navy become part of the Coast guard, disband the Marines and reduce the Army and Airforce by 75%. If we do all that then our Government can start doing the important stuff like educating our children, feeding the hungry and providing medical care for everyone. And in addition we should stop subsidizing the rich 1%. No one should become fabulously wealthy by having the Government support their workforce.
