To tell you the truth I feel sorry for the BCP. I thought I will - TopicsExpress

To tell you the truth I feel sorry for the BCP. I thought I will give them time to heal but it looks like they have not yet recovered from the painful onslaught!! Right now they are confused! They are all over the place!! They do not at all know what to do. We tried to show them that the rallies they organized immediately after elections were rushed!! Their recent leadership forum in Palapye was also rushed, causing them to come up with mediocre resolutions that were not thought out!! Why would they engage an independent body to assess their dismal performance when the writing is on the wall that Batswana want opposition unity?? Why would they want to dictate terms to UDC on how we should cooperate with them?? They know very well that we have UDC where three opposition parties are already working together peacefully to oust BDP and the name UMBRELLA FOR DEMOCRATIC CHANGE is neutral enough to accommodate all parties including BCP, and all that will be needed is to incorporate their symbol mo Sekhukhung!! Thereafter we work together towards MOONO 2019 then start discussions about total merger after 2019. Their proposal of immediate total merger is a recipe for opposition disaster. We need to learn the BCP first before we could negotiate total merger with them. They need to proof that they are genuine in their total merger proposal by joining UDC then work peacefully with us in the run up to 2019. Thats when we will notice that the total merger proposal with BCP can indeed be sustainable. They know very well that we have not forgotten about how they frastrated UDC by campaigning for BDP in the recent byelections, giving BDP an undeserved narrow victory, when we thought we were with them. We have also not forgotten how they used their planted media activists during Umbrella negotiations where they claimed that BMD wanted 27 constituencies and that Bmd said its non negotiable. When they come to the table, we will have those in mind and hope they will be negotiating in good faith and for the benefit of opposition and BATSWANA at large!! I think I know why the BCP is confused! Its because after their dismal performance in the just ended general elections, their bargaining power has eroded. They know that it will be hard to find space for their guns like Saleshando, MmaRapelana, Magama, Rammidi, Mma Motlhagodi, Mamela, Phage, Chillyboy etc in the south. Some of these big guns could be in Parliament right now with UDC in power as we speak if it wasnt for BCPs egoistic approach during Umbrella 1 negotiations. Wherever they are, they must be thinking if we join UDC, where will we contest?! This is one big question that will keep BCP away from UDC and away from opposition cooperation!! We shall be monitoring their every move ka itlho le le nchocho re sa bonye, not even for a split second!
