To the mesmerizing BABAS: Away from the crowds of Haridwar, on the highway to Dehra Dun, stood the ashram of Govindji Maharaj, tucked away into the jungle, deep in the foothills. It was so serene and quiet with the mountain breeze talking its own language and the birds tweeting away. Govindji Maharaj sat on an elevated platform looking down benevolently on his followers as he spoke his discourse in a booming, captivating voice. Anushka was dumbstruck by the looks of such a handsome man! They had both just entered the ashram and quietly sat at the last row. What a voice!! What looks! Can these sadhus be so captivating? Govindji Maharaj was more than 6 ft. tall and fair in complexion. He was bare above his waist and wore a single piece of saffron coloured cotton fabric, as was the customary dress of the sadhus. His was a body as if chiselled in stone, with his black hair and beard flowing elegantly down to his shoulders and broad, powerful chest. The most telling part of his appearance were his eyes...deep set brown and piercing as if they could rip a lesser human being apart. Anushka was in a state of utter awe! At the same time feeling a peculiar stirring in the recesses of her lower abdomen! Baba was a hot item!! It was difficult to make out his age, but then who cares? Raju however saw something more interesting. Almost all the devotees of the Baba were women! He did not understand what the Baba spoke but the women he saw were in some kind of a trance shaking from side to side and clapping their hands in unison to the Baba’s intonations. They were glassy eyed staring into nothingness. There stood two very desirable looking girls on either sides of the Baba, perhaps in waiting to cater to his wishes as and when asked for. Raju loved the spectacle!! Govindji Maharaj’s hawk eyes did not miss the man and the young pretty woman who entered the hall. He raised his hand and beckoned to Anushka, “Come my daughter, sit beside me!” Anushka was taken aback!! Baba was calling her! She was blessed! …….His close proximity mesmerised her even more and she felt herself inevitably drawn to this enormously attractive man. Raju watched her closely… an idea was taking shape in his crooked mind…….Anushka was deliriously happy, already forming the picture in her mind how to get this man between the sheets! She however did not know that the Baba was a past master with women and between the sheets! He was a charlatan.
