To those who love Plecos and wonder how the live in the wild - TopicsExpress

To those who love Plecos and wonder how the live in the wild (other than in the Amazon), here are some pictures: The first picture shows one of their biomes, the Cerrado (A brazilian type of Savannah), in this case, with human interference and during the drought season. As you get closer to the river, you will have another type of jungle (Second). The 3rd-5th pictures display the sand banks. The river´s banks will mostly constitute of either sand or rocks, sometimes clay and rarely gravel. Picture 6 shows some of the rocky parts of the river as you get in. You can see how strong it is by the flow (the river is actually dry, its a lot stronger- which can be confirmed by the 7th picture, displaying some huge driftwood by the river bank). Number 8 shows where they actually live, watching from above, while the 9th from under water. The next one shows a pleco living happily in his cave, while the last ones are some of the tetras that can be found around there (silver tip - Hasemania Nana) At last, if you are lucky, you can find some other nice creatures on your way back, like the Macaw. Hope you find it interesting Kind regards.
