To write this is to say thank you, so I will. Thank you to my amazing husband, mother in law, parents, family, and friends. Thank you to the amazing team of doctors who first found me, and the subsequent teams who have worked on me since. And thank you to @ubex who designed the helmet that ultimately kept me alive. Nearly five days ago I was riding at about 33 miles per hour on my bicycle with 35 lbs of gear strapped to the back, when I lost control and bottomed out, head first, at the bottom of a hill. I was unconscious, bleeding, from what I now understand, dying. Because of some quick acting people and a kick ass helmet I am still here, to wow you all with my cooking prowess and annoy the hell out of the rest of you. But seriously, let me say this... I have a ways to go - broken pelvis and all - but because I wore a helmet I can write this, all by myself, without a ghost writer or in memoriam, and that is worth every single good hair day that has ever been or will be. Shelby Ebert Moser, very much in.
