Today 43 years ago, I was awaken by my mother kicking me to get me awake. I had passed out on the bathroom floor straddling the throne. She told me to get up and look at myself. I had inch square ceramic tile imprints on my face. What are you going to do about that, youre getting married today. Well, this is what she will get, it would not be pretty, they went away by the time of the wedding. Yes , today, my wife and I have been married for 43 years, good and bad times. We are the parents of 2 sons and a daughter. She had put up with a lot, my working away, being in the Guards and Reserves, our son and daughter being deployed to the war, and me still in the Reserves, she coined the phrase that she was always saying goodbye, and the other problems that arose. This coming january 2015, we will be grandparents for the first time to a granddaughter, our oldest son and a great daughter-in-law, cant wait. So happy anniversary Sweetheart.
