Today, Autumn and I have been married 15 years. That is amazing! Its amazing because I have not made it an easy journey, to say the least. In all reality, I really cant take any pride in making it this far -- its God, and His working through my amazing wife. She is the anchor. She is the one who knew God would hold together what He had joined, even when one of us wasnt sure... She wrote this to me earlier this week, Marriage is not an adventure for those who dont love the Lord. Marriage is the image of Christs relationship with the church and at times one or both will have to die to themselves so that the marriage is intact and that we may have another glimpse into knowing our Savior, Creator and Comforter. While on the wedding day we are filled with excitement and hope, there will be times when one or both will be scourged and humiliated. Then we look into the face of the other, hope for redemption and, and receive another glimpse of the savior. Marriage is not a social right or privilege. Its a quest that promises hurt, humiliation, death, joy, hope, love and glimpses of a real, eternal wedding. That. Just that. Happy anniversary! I have found the One my heart desires.
