Today I am thankful to be a couple of days past having to do the humane thing for my Cocoa Bun Bun. It was so weird when they wheeled her in to say good bye how excited she was to see me; the vet tech was a bit taken aback as she bound towards me. I thought she was feeling better, but they had given her oxygen as she was having issues with her lungs all filled up. We spent a few minutes together before they took her back and assured me she wouldnt feel a thing. The rest of the day I didnt feel a thing. Saturday was just so emotional.................went from waking up late for clinic; stress, to all the love of the dogs to the biggest adrenaline rush I have had since I figured out I could snowboard backwards much better than forward, and then home to take Cocoa to the vet where I found out she has multiple health issues. I had her at the vet in the last three months and nothing was discovered at that time? Not sure how to feel, but I do know I now have a lonely boy bunny and sugar glider. Still havent placed Einstein, but feel I need to really get with it now. Bunny sits in the cage looking at me like where is she? He didnt understand, but we continue to live and save and do whatever it takes. I slept for the remaining part of Saturday which I do when I get sad. Woke up with a dog pile of gargantuan size. Seems the dogs knew I was sad cause when I opened my eyes; three sets of eyes were on me. Spent Sunday crafting for the wonderful event on May 1, 2014 for Taras House Animal Rescue, Inc. and the silent auction has some really great gifts going on. The centerpieces will be done this week as I sit with our guest Kiera Knightley who is on her way to the house as we speak.............pretty excited to meet her and see how she is without feeling like I am cheating. She was at the Petsmart where I took Benji (BOOMER) for his meet and greet, so I didnt make too much of a fuss over her, even though I wanted to. She has allergies and needs to be doted on and with what is in mind; this should be awesome. Ever had the idea you know where a dog belongs before you even see them in your home? Well I think I have the perfect answer, but will let it ride over the weekend when she becomes acquainted with my good friend who lost her husband. She is retired and was left in a very good place and told me she wanted a companion/dog to take care of now. She had been on the fence for the last year, but now she knows. She has the lovliest home too and beautiful backyard with a great fence and time to walk a dog on the beach EVERY single morning; so prayers and blessing going out that this will eventually be a case of Who rescued who? Back at work for a little bit then on to greet Kiera and go to the doctor this afternoon. Please send good positive energy that Kiera will respond to everything that will be set before her over the next bit of time. Live from the Harbour of Grace where life is just not always simple, we send you enough to figure out what you want/need. Love to all and LOVE EACH OTHER!
