Today I am very sad and sorry to have lost my Sensei (Teacher) and offer my condolences to his wife, Catherine, and his family. I am especially grateful for his influence upon my life. I spent many years in his Dojo, learning much more than I ever would have anticipated. The lessons l learned transcended my own purpose in attending his school. I came to fight, to be strong and be aggressive and to prove something to myself. Sensei provided me with those skills and opportunities and added much more. The most valuable lessons I learned from him were to be humble and self-controlled; how to listen and learn; how to be patient and to teach others and to strive for perfection in all I did. He was the ultimate example in all the things he believed in. I carry these into my work and personal life and am a better person. Sensei touched thousands of people in his lifetime. I cherish the time I had with him.
