Today I bought my fourth myki card (I am quite forgetful). For the fourth time, Ive asked for a concession myki card with $10 on it. And, for the fourth time, Ive been told that the card will cost $3 plus the $10 for credit. Yet somehow Ive gotten away with only paying for the $10 credit and not the $3 for the card. Originally I thought it was just the vline guy at my local station being nice to me, but this time I got it from a metro lady in Footscray. Ive checked online, and the card is supposed to cost $3. Has anyone else used this elaborate plan to get a free myki or am I just somehow famous in public transport circles so they give it to me for free? I just really dont want to upset the myki gods, because I have a feeling that theyd be pretty ruthless.
