Today I completed my first official design project. Within a matter of two weeks my partner and I conceptualized, drew and built a full scale replica of our design. It was quite the experience. I stayed in the school for about 18-20 hours a day thinking drawing and building. The goal of the project was to create something "spacial" using the abstracted ideas from my rabbit ears and my partners kitchen scale. What we came up with was the idea of using different colors to reflect specific areas of space. White representing open space, Grey as exterior space and Yellow as Interior space. The mirrors were used to create the idea that your not really seeing what you think We made the panels tight together and then further apart to represent the compressing and release of the Kitchen scale. All in all it was a stressful but fun month. Now off to NYC for a week!
