Today I cut every zinnia that was in full bloom from the garden - TopicsExpress

Today I cut every zinnia that was in full bloom from the garden and took them up to Ferguson to hand out. My goal was simple - help give people something to smile about in what has otherwise been a difficult week. I took three buckets of blooms, a friend, and my camera. I gave flowers to women, children, and men, some who said theyd never been offered a flower before. We passed out a big bucketful at QT and then took the other two buckets up toward the Al Sharpton memorial service for Mike Brown and gave those to folks walking into the service. We made a few new friends and hugged a few old ones too. I did what I could to bring a healing presence. Flower power in 2014. I used to think maybe I was born in the wrong decade, but now I know my timing was just right.
