Today I did something beautiful. Today I voted YES and it will live long in my memory. I stood in the quiet of the polling booth with that precious piece of paper in my hand and three times I read the question. Savouring those delicious words... Should Scotland be an independent country? I placed the ballot down and picked up the pencil and drew a firm strong diagonal line then I turned the paper and drew another. Making an X, a simple kiss to Scotland, against the YES. Picking up the ballot paper I once more read the question... Should Scotland be an independent country? And I had answered... YES I folded it and turned to the ballot box but stopped briefly to unfold it for one final look. Then with a tear in my eyes placed it inside. This memory has been with me all day while outside the polling station and will follow me every day hence forth.
