Today I discovered that UNH/the federal government expects us to - TopicsExpress

Today I discovered that UNH/the federal government expects us to spend 3 hours per credit outside of the class, for the class. With the average student having roughly 18 credits per semester, thats about 54 hours, not including the time actually in the class. Lets be extremely generous and say 16 hours of class per week. Thats 60 hours right there without even beginning to account for working a job to pay for the never ending abyss that is student loans. Today was just a reminder of how stupid the system is. Forcing me to pay for the rest of my life to take some stupid bio credit Ill never apply or need in real life is so mindblowingly stupid I cant believe its become so widely accepted. Even more than that, is how they are doubling down on these stupid credits by charging ridiculous prices. Student loans were to help a (relative) few individuals be able to afford school. They were NOT created so UNH (and every other school in the country) could hike the prices up and charge everyone five times the rate it was a decade ago and have their hooks in our banks for the next fifty years. How many of us are taking the easiest class we could find to satisfy a credit we dont need or care about? How many of us are paying THOUSANDS of dollars to satisfy this requirement to get a diploma in a field that has absolutely zero cross over? How many of us took that class and now remember NOTHING from it? Im the last person to ever call for a rally against the establishment, but this crap is just stupid.
