Today, I experienced first hand how people sometimes assert their titles thinking that by doing that they gain more respect and power. I accidentally address someone as pastor and his aide de camp insisted that he must be addressed as bishop! I was shocked by the reaction because I was made to feel that what I did is a grievous mistake and that addressing him as pastor and not bishop is lacking respect. Pastor? Bishop?
