Today I found out that the 5th grade school trip is not going to be to Washington DC, but instead, to a retreat center for interpersonal and team-building in Malibu. Its basically sleep-away camp for three days, and Owen has been begging me to find one for him that he can go to with all his friends! I cant wait to tell him he gets to go to overnight camp! And the school wants Owen to be a part of this! I actually think I am going to try this without an aide. There are enough teachers/counselors there who can help him. This will a big step for him in his independence...gotta love inclusion!!
