Today I had a bad start while driving through our neighborhood when a chihuahua ran across the street towards his house in front of me. I didnt even have time to slam on my brakes! I got out of my car to him but he was already gone over raining bridge. I was frantic to get someone in the house to answer the door. I tried ringing the doorbell, pleading and banging on the door to no avail. I picked up the lifeless warm body from the street in front of his house to the small front porch and laid him on the doorstep crying over this little guy and begging him to forgive me. I wept so many tears I had trouble writing the note to his owner that I was devastated at their loss. It brought back childhood memories of my sweet little chihuahua mix Mitzi who was run over before my very eyes when I was 10. When I drove by his home later this afternoon I could no longer see the sweet chihuahua on the porch and the note was gone. Im hoping that his owners would realize I didnt mean to do it and forgive me. I also thank my Lord and Savior that he didnt suffer too long ?
