Today, I had another 65th BDay gathering, this time with my daughter Audra and her family. We ate at Pei Wei, then went to Yogurtini and then came home. Once inside my apartment, and shut the door, I rushed my daughter and hubby into the living room and grabbed Jaycie and Jacob and we snuck into my bedroom! I locked the door, told the kids to slip off their shoes and climb onto my bed. Once they were both on the bed with perplexed expressions and I on the floor guiding them, we locked hands and I softly yelled "JUMP!" My grandson Jacob lit up like a xmas tree, realizing what I was doing with him for he was little for me to ever do this with him so I wanted him to have the memory. Jaycie was still too little to possibly remember, so I made sure that Jaycie too would have the memory pat down too! Jumped, and Jumped they did, and they had fun locking onto a "memory"! Then, like in the younger days, Audra starts going through my things and her husband grins big as he watched lovingly knowing. Then Audra works her way over to my books and goes through my books. I join her pulling out books I use to read them and gave them to her children. Audra got on the floor and carefully went through all my books and pulled other books she read as a child and several at the same age Jaycie is, so that was kind a special. Jaycie and Jacob are in first grade and kindergarten but they read 2nd grade level, so it is exciting to see they dive into the books reading and laughing. It seems this is the year for me to receive "sparkly" great cards! I love them all and of course I save them so when I am gone they can read their cards when they were little like their Mom can, which was a tradition in our family.
