Today I had the pleasure of holding a Listening Post in Sorell - TopicsExpress

Today I had the pleasure of holding a Listening Post in Sorell where I had the opportunity to meet residents and discuss local issues. I extend my appreciation for those who were able to stop by and have a chat. After a short doorknock around a few local businesses, I travelled to Herdsmans Cove Primary School where I attended a fantastic presentation on the Active After School Communities program (AASC). The AASC is a Federally funded initiative run by the Australian Sports Commission, providing primary school-aged children with a free introduction to over 70 different sports and 20 other structured physical activities. The program is designed to engage traditionally non-active children, or those not involved in mainstream sport. Herdsmans Cove Primary School are one of twenty-seven schools within the Lyons electorate who participate in this terrific program. As part of this presentation, I had the privilege of presenting an award to a local coach, a small recognition of his contribution towards this program. Next stop, a visit to a local sheet metal and fabrication business
