Today I have so much to be thankful for. But I want to send a special thank you out to Lukas, Krista, and Silvia, for donating to my most recent Habitat for Humanity Global Village trip in Nepal. I also want to share with you all the story of the young home partners my team and I got to work with last week: Sudeep Lama, 13, and his sister Sonam, 16, were plunged into poverty when their father died in an accident seven years ago. Things got worse when their mother left them soon after. The two have been living with separate relatives since then in the slum community of Syauli Bazaar, until their neighbors decided to pool some of the little savings they had to enable Sudeep and Sonam to have a decent home through HFH Nepal. “The only pleasant dream that I have had is of the day when my sister and I can live together under one roof,” said Sudeep.
