Today I learned that innocence is amazing and sometimes lost in our world. 2nd grader and first generation Irish-American (father is from Ireland) was student of the week and had a poster about himself. During the question period, a student asked if leprechauns lived in Ireland...my first inclination was to correct the student for asking such a silly question, but Owen very beautifully answered yes they Do and if you ever go to Ireland you have to see the fairy houses in the countryside he also told the class he has ancient soldiers blood and is a good defender of both Ireland and United States. How dare I forgot about the real leprechauns in Ireland my dearest Owen, you taught Ms. S that imagination is sometimes greater than knowledge.
