Today I post a short video taken yesterday at the grave of Regina Derieva, on the 1st anniversary of her death. Regina reads her The Trout poem. A fragment of Franz Schuberts The Trout quintet in addition. Performed by Jacqueline du Pre, Itzhak Perlman, Pinchas Zukerman, Zubin Mehta, and Daniel Barenboim in 1969. Every trout swims in motherlands, every stream flows in birthmarks. And someone, picked out from notes, that rang like a bunch of keys, does not know who he is. The passage from light to dark, from reality to dream. And the trout flows with music from all sides. And the water called by the trout is not to be scooped up in hands, in order not to take up the living trill and, having slaked thirst, to sleep. - Regina Derieva (tr. J. Kates in Corinthian Copper, Marick Press)
