Today I ran, Its Thursday time for my short training run. Decided to run to work as it is suppose to be very windy and warm later today. It was one of those days when every direction you turned the wind was hitting you square on. There were times I could feel my legs moving, but it felt as if my body was not making any progress. I had to get to the school before my boys did. I hit the side country road, gravely and filled with holes. I am watching where I step trying not to get hurt. In the distance I see a large dog running loose. I was worried about his/her temperament. I came upon the dog and found him to be an old Chocolate lab, graying Just like me. He ran with me to end of his property. It felt great to have a running partner if even for a few moments. I continued down the road. I could see the intersection up ahead. The wind has died down Thank God. After a few moments of no wind I approach a grove of trees I think they are Birch trees. The leaves are green on top, but kind of silvery underneath. When I get to the first few trees the leaves start blowing with such force. It sounded as if the trees were applauding me, my pace picked up, my mood lightened. It was so weird and surreal that as I passed each set of trees they would quiet down as the next group would begin to blow with equal force. It happened as I passed each group. I wish I was more coordinated that I could have pulled my phone off and recorded it, but I was afraid to stop. There was a presence on that road this morning. I think God knows that I have been struggling as the anniversary of my Moms stroke is quickly approaching. He knows I blame myself and I have turned to running for comfort and therapy. I think this morning was someone saying Good Job Thank you for letting me share all of my crazy ups and downs. #Megsmiles #amazingrun #cheaperthantherapy #runstrong #family
