Today, I received this post regards to Kidex highway. This is good approach to resolve traffic jams in PJ. Whats wrong with the upgrading? Moreover, if the state or federal government can afford them. Dear residents of Petaling Jaya There are two highways that will cut through Petaling Jaya; the Kinrara Damansara Expressway (Kidex) and Damansara-Shah Alam Highway (DASH). These projects were discussed in secret between the Barisan Nasional (BN) Federal Government and the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) Selangor Government since 2011 and are now in their final phase of getting approvals from both governments. Both the Say No to Kidex (SNTK) and Say No to Dash (SNTD) groups have been exposing numerous documents that show the collaboration between the Federal and Selangor governments for the past one year. Despite loud opposition from the general public against the highway projects, the Federal government insists that it is the Selangor governments prerogative to cancel the project while the Selangor government have held several official objection exercises since May 2014 till Jan 2015 in different formats and by different government agencies, perhaps with the intent to confuse and tire out the residents. Each time SNTK and SNTD expose these exercises, our PR elected representatives simply defend such objection exercises as necessary despite receiving more than 3,000 signatures against Kidex and 5,000 signatures against DASH. Since our signatures appear to be meaningless to those in power, both SNTK and SNTD are committed to have a rally against both highways. Details are as follows: Date: 25th Jan 2015 Time: 10am - 12pm Venue: Dataran Petaling Jaya (next to A&W PJ) We have paid for the booking of this venue in advance, which is RM4,000, to show our commitment to this rally and are in the process of getting a police permit (the cops have been informed verbally and will be given notice in writing on January the 5th). We are appealing to the public to help raise funds to cover the following costs: RM2,000 field rental (paid) RM2,000 field rental deposit (paid) RM3,500 for 100 banners RM7,000 MBPJ advertising permits to put up the banners legally RM500 sound system Much of the costs incurred relate to holding the rally in a legal capacity. As responsible PJ residents, we will adhere to the rule of law even despite opposing the highways and appeal to our fellow PJ residents to help make this event possible and a success. Please donate funds to the following bank account belonging to SNTKs treasurer Chong Yet Moi. This account is newly set up on 2 Jan 2015 and is solely for the purpose of this rally. Maybank Account Number: 112232400690 Maybank Account Name: Chong Yet Moi Please donate and set aside some time to gather for this rally. If we do not get the money and people to commit to this, then you can be assured that both BN and PR will bulldoze both highway projects through. If you would like to know more, kindly contact (SNTK) Mak Khuin Weng at 016-293 9603, Selve Sugumaran 019-324 5091, Rachael Ho at 012-211 4444 or (SNTD) Michell Wong at 012-271 5606 Thank you We love PJ. No elevated highways!
