Today I reflected on the words, though few but powerful. He would tell me, it doesnt matter what you do, so long as you make sure you are the best at what you do. Hed tell me, I dont care if youre the toilet cleaner or the road sweeper, just make sure your are the best toilet cleaner or road sweeper. Hed tell me, I wish you could find your siblings and bring them together. He didnt say it often, but the most powerful was when he told me he loved me, on his dying bed. What he couldnt do as are father he tried to make up for as a grandfather. He studied all faiths and mastered a few languages. He spoke fluent Arabic and played classical piano. He was a choir boy. He was aid to Nelson Mandela when he came to London in the 90s. His name was Moses Ayo Adekale. Father to some amazing creative, independent, kids who have no idea how much of him they carry in them…they probably have a desire to be teachers or are teachers, theyre always looking for business, they creative and free spirited. They are Adeola Sheehy-Adekale, Niikay Adekale, Mel Dawodu, Adekale gbenga Ayo, Toyin Adekale Singer-Songwriter Author, Ayo Adekale, and more. Today he would have been 92 years old. Its been nearly 11 years since youve gone daddy and I miss you. I give God thanks for our time together, though gone too soon. I promise to share as much of your legacy with your family that you longed to see but never got to before going to sleep. Love you daddy.
