Today I say goodbye to my home 16 Brookway This house has been in my family for 30 years. It was my grand parents and then my mums and after she passed away mine and my sisters. 3 years ago my life literally crashed around my ears with the loss of my mum, the break down of my marriage , moving away from my kids and the loss of my job all in a 10 day period. I struggled to hold myself together following that and hit about as low as a human can go. I lived in a dark horrible flat at the hospital. With no where for my kids to play when they came to visit. Then my sister agreed that I should move to Brookway after the tenant left and my world paused... I stopped falling. By moving in I was surrounded by walls I knew and memories of such love. I became a part of the most lovely community here in the close where I was made to feel so welcome and my children were able to play in the road with mates and just be kids. (The people of this close have shown me such kindness and care, thank you all. ) I know it probably sounds silly but this house and the memories of my old mum and my Grand Parents saved my life. I really believe that. Your home becomes a place to heal to hide from the pain outside and to get your self ready to fight again. Behind its closed doors you are able to reflect and take stock . I wake up this morning and god knows I still have a lot to resolve, I still have to build my business and deal with mums death etc but I am both very sad to be going and really ready to take that 1st step. Time to put my life back together. Thank you to the people of the Brook and to this old house ..Here goes .....
